Investor, Director, Coach
Pierre-Olivier Beckers most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Delhaize Group, an international food retailer, from 1999 to 2013, and prior to that held numerous positions with that company since 1983. He currently serves on the Board of D’Ieteren, Bata and Aramark inc. Mr Beckers has been President of the Belgian Olympic Committee since December 2004 and was elected to the International Olympic Committee in 2012 where he serves as Chair of the audit committee and as a member of the finance, ethics and human resources committees. He coaches and financially supports a variety of Start-up companies. Mr Beckers holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a masters degree from the Louvain School of Management. He was elected as Belgium’s manager of the year in 1999, CEO of the year in 2008, and best CEO for investor relations in Belgium by Thomson Extel in 2010. He is married, has three children and two grandchildren.
